Phone village at Garrison shutdown as masked gunmen parade vicinity

Traders and technicians doing business at the popular phone village at Garrison axis of Ogbunabali, in Rivers State, have been forced to shutdown, following the killing of an unidentified man. Africa Update gathered from sources that trouble started when the Chairman of Ogbunabali community, allegedly invited members of the OSPAC vigilante group to the area.

According to our sources, the OSPAC members, reportedly killed an unidentified man, who they claimed was a cultist. The man was allegedly killed on Wednesday morning and at about 5pm, some masked men stormed the area shooting sporadically, which caused pandemonium. The masked men reportedly returned on Thursday at about 7pm for a repeat of the attack.

Our sources further stated that though the masked men did not invade the area yesterday, they however stormed the area today sending shivers down the spines of residents and traders. They expressed dismay that officers of the Rivers State Police Command have not visited the scene despite the mayhem caused by these masked gunmen.

Africa Update could not ascertain if the masked gunmen are members of the same cult group the deceased allegedly belonged to.
